For Grande-Marlaska 'Avoiding criminal liability for legal entities is not the main focus of the programs; it is something broader, the ethics of generic regulatory compliance, and criminal law should be a part of those programs.'
Eloy Velasco, from his experience in the National Court, confessed that in some criminal investigations it is not possible to identify which individual committed the criminal act 'but the corporate entity behind it is, and we have been able to impose some type of sanction that, at least, restores to society the balance that was caused by companies that broke the law.' Therefore, 'anything that restores balance and ethics to the actions of some companies is a new field that goes beyond what we had when only individuals were responsible,' he concluded. Eloy Velasco.
