Both initiatives were established some time ago four years, during the commemoration of the bicentennial of the Jaén Provincial Council, with the intention of "underlining our identity as Jaén residents and highlighting the wealth and culture of each and every one of the 97 municipalities that make up our province."

Of the people and entities proposed in this third edition of the Jaén Province Awards, Reyes highlighted "the genius and personality of one of our country's greatest and most international singers, Raphael from Linares, who has always been proud of his Jaén and Andalusian origins."

In his more than 55 years of artistic career, Raphael, who has also acted in more than a dozen films, has achieved great success in Europe, America and Asia, as well as on the most prestigious stages in Spain and around the world, and has earned 350 gold records, 50 platinum records and even a uranium record awarded for sales of more than 50 million copies.

Regarding the UJA, It has been proposed "for the effort and work carried out by this institution over the last 24 years, not only in the higher education of men and women of this province, but also as a reference in research and in the generation of a culture of entrepreneurship "so necessary in our current society." "The University of Jaén has been the most important milestone in the recent history of our province," he stated.

Jaén lawyer Manuel Medina González, founder of the Medina Cuadros law firm, is also among the four candidates for the 3rd Jaén Province Awards "for his extensive professional career and for being a business leader who demonstrates that the province of Jaén is a land of opportunity."

The business group Luis Piña completes the nominations for this year's Jaén Province Awards. This consumer goods distribution company is located in Andújar and dates back to 1969. "This business group has grown from the province of Jaén, generating employment and economic development in the region," it stated as one of the reasons it deserves this recognition.

In fact, Luis Piña SA is made up of more than a thousand employees across a network comprising 58 Masymas supermarkets, six Minymas supermarkets, and eight Eurocash Cash&Carry stores, with a distribution center covering more than 35,000 square meters.

In the ordinary session of the next plenary session of the Provincial Corporation, which will take place on March 2, these proposals will be elevated to the III Awards of the Province of Jaén by the Presidency of the Provincial Council, as established in article 18 of the Regulations of Honors and Distinctions of the Provincial Administration.
