The weekend of the 7 and 8 October was celebrated in the Villa de Covarrubias the “Notes from Norway” festival, where Manuel Medina González, President of the Princess Kristina of Norway Foundation He served as master of ceremonies.
This edition had a special meaning since the Founding Partner from this office presented the prizes to the two winners of the First Short Story Competition about Princess Kristina, organized by the Foundation that bears the princess's name.
The awards ceremony began with the interpreted reading of the winning texts, "Farvel, Kristina" by Marta Finazzi Martínez, the best story in Spanish and “Kristina” by Kristina Heyerdahl Elfving, winner of the best short story in Norwegian. Later, Manuel Medina, accompanied by the Norwegian Ambassador to Spain, Helge Skaara, presented a commemorative plaque designed and handcrafted by a local artisan and the cash prize established in the contest rules.
Covarrubias welcomed, one more year, the Norwegian musicians who were part of the lineup of Notes from Norway. This musical competition began to be held in 1996, when Norwegian artists began to arrive sporadically to play at Covarrubias. Beginning in 1999, with the collaboration of the Royal Norwegian Embassy, the Princess Kristina of Norway Foundation, and the Covarrubias City Council, these musical and cultural gatherings were formalized into an annual event called Notes from Norway. This event features high-quality artists and guests.
The Hermitage of St. Olav, as every year since its inauguration, hosted musical performances.
